Hi, I’m Claire aka DJ FADJ!

(Mia's mother) "Mia didn't know how to set up the DJ equipment or upload software and tracks. She had never really played music at home until she did the Ministry of Fun DJ school's beginner DJ Programl in February 2022, now she really enjoys playing music!
Mia enjoyed learning how to beat match and thought it was really cool to be able to mix tracks! She has so much more confidence and isn't as shy when making music.
If you enjoy music and would like to DJ, DJ FADJ’s school is awesome, her lessons are fun and you will have a blast!"

The Ministry of Fun DJ School - Teen Beginner DJ Program
Kicking off in the first week of January 2023, giving you plenty of time to get your Teen’s DJ Kit together (just in time for Christmas!).
When you enrol your teen will receive:
âś… Welcome Module:
Which includes a checklist of equipment your teen will need (including the DJ Controller) so that they’re all ready to start the program
âś… 6 modules, 1 module released the beginning of each week
Each module is made up of bite size pre-recorded video lessons so they are easy to watch over and over again
âś… Lifetime access to your modules and video lessons
As a Mum to tweens and teens I understand how busy they can be! Having lifetime access to the video lessons means they can work through them at their own pace and come back to them at any time.
âś… 6 Weekly live coaching lessons via Zoom (1 for teens & for tweens each week) taught by me to reinforce what they've watched in the pre-recorded video lessons
I understand how important it is to have that face-to-face interaction, that way your teen can ask questions in real time, which will help keep them motivated and moving towards their end goal…to become Superstar DJs!
âś… A closed community group:
So that they feel comfortable asking questions and learning from other students. I’m a true believer that you learn faster in a community of like minded peers that will help cheer you on!
âś… Tech is the first speed hump that often stops people from continuing DJing.
I give detailed instructions on what to buy and how to set it up, with a live coaching session dedicated to how to set up your Teen’s DJ equipment

The first module is released in the first week of January 2023 , with a new module released at the beginning of each week over the 6 week program. You get:
- VIDEO LESSONS
- CHECKLISTS
- SLIDES
- CHALLENGES
- COMMUNITY
So you want to know what exactly is in The Ministry of Fun DJ Program?
Here’s how we are going to break it down over the 6 weeks of the program!

By the end of Week 1 you'll know exactly what DJ equipment to buy and how to set it up - saving you time, money and tech overwhelm. Keeping it simple is the key!
- Know exactly what DJ equipment to buy
- Understand exactly how to set up the DJ equipment, including DJ software
- Know what all those buttons and knobs mean with a detailed tour of the DJ controller
- Know how to manage their music and where to get it from - either by purchasing music or music streaming services

By the end of Week 2 your teen will understand the fundamentals of music, music structure and how to master the #1 skill all DJs must know to mix music together - BEAT MATCHING! So that it sets your teen up to nail their mixes every single time.
-
Understand the fundamentals of music to nail a DJ mix
-
Learn how to mix two tracks into each other, known as beat matching, to create their own unique sound
-
Understand the difference between the Play/Pause vs the Cue Button so they don’t get confused and press the wrong button mid set!

Building on from week 2, by the end of week 3, your teen will have the skills to know exactly where to mix 2 tracks together so it sounds like 1 song as well as how to use headphones when they’re mixing music and why it’s important to use headphones when mixing 2 songs together.
- Nail where to mix 2 songs together to create their own unique sound
- Understand how to use headphones to mix 2 songs together before the crowd can hear it

When it comes to DJing, HOT CUES are your best friend! In week 4 your teen will know how to use hot cues, so that they know exactly where to mix their tracks every time.
- Understand how to use HOT CUES so they don’t lose count of where they are in a song
- Understand where to put hot cues to mix music perfectly

This is the #1 technique I use in every DJ set and will help your teen mix any genre of songs together at any tempo or BPM! Imagine your Teen mixing Hip Hop with Disco music!
- Know how to mix different genres and BPMs (beats per minute) together...it’s the question I get asked all the time!
- Understand how to use FX and when to use FX when doing a dropmix, so that your mix sounds smoother

So now that your teen knows how to mix music, it’s time for them to shine like a superstar DJ! In our final week, your teen will bring everything they’ve learnt over the past 5 weeks together, to create and perform their DJ sets with a newfound CONFIDENCE, and CREATIVITY.
PLUS by the end of this module they’ll have the tools and confidence to play not only in their bedroom but in front of their friends & family like the Fun Awesome DJ they were destined to be!
- Mixing Masterclass with a superstar Australian DJ to help elevate their mixing skill and sound like their remixing music live
- Know the exact steps to creating a killer DJ set
- Know where to get music inspiration from
- Have the skills & confidence to nail a DJ set performance
- Get to celebrate with me and the other Fun Awesome DJs at our Virtual Graduation Party!

Capri had a few issues setting up her DJ equipment initially, she has now gained more confidence using her equipment and mixing music.
The Ministry of Fun DJ Program is right for your teen even if:
- They (or you the parent) aren’t tech savvy- When you enrol in the program you’ll receive a DJ Kit checklist so that you will have plenty of time to purchase the required DJ equipment before the program officially kicks off the week of 2nd January 2023. We also spend the entire 1st week guiding you through how to set up the DJ equipment with step-by-step instructions to help you get everything you need for your teen to start DJing and how to set it up , plus our first live coaching call can be spent on troubleshooting.
- They don't have time to learn another musical instrument with their other extra curricular activities - This is why we are running the program over the January school holidays! The last 2 weeks does carry over to the first 2 weeks of Term 1 in 2023 but the core part of the program is run over the school holidays so your teen will have plenty of time to learn and practice over that very LONG Jan school holidays!
- You prefer 1-on-1 coaching - COMMUNITY is very much a big part of why I created The Ministry of FUN DJ School. Being amongst like minded students will encourage your teen to continue to learn and be supported that they may not receive in the outside world. Also they will learn more from the questions asked by other students on a skill they may be stuck on but may have been too shy to ask
- When you purchase the Program, you’ll receive an email with a checklist of the DJ equipment that you’ll need for your teen to get started, so you’re ready to go when we kick off Week 1 commencing 2nd January 2023. This gives you plenty of time to buy the DJ controller (hint - it’s the perfect Xmas present!)
- A new module is released each week. This format provides ample time to work through each module, implement and practice the techniques in their own time and at their own pace, and identify any areas that they may need help with in real time without being overwhelmed with too much tech and content.
- Before our official kick off, I'll be hosting a Live Welcome & Orientation Party, where I will be sharing exactly how the program will be taught and give a tour of the online program to get students familiar with how the program works and get the students pumped for the next 6 weeks!

I would prefer them to do 1-on-1 coaching in person?
What if my child is outside the recommended age of 12 to 17 year olds?
What equipment do I need to buy for this course, is it expensive?
My teen doesn't have time to learn a new hobby or musical instrument, they are already so busy with their sport, out of school activities plus study
What if my teen can't make the live Zoom coaching and Q & A sessions?

There’s one more thing I’d like to chat to you about before you go…
Confidence, self expression, creativity, self motivation, connection, community, and freedom... There’s no doubt that music and the learning of music is of huge benefit to young people (let’s face it - we all need music in our lives!) but DJING is the ínstrument of choice for young people.
The Ministry of Fun DJ School's beginner DJ program has been designed especially for Teens, guided by me with over 15 years of DJ experience and my community manager/hype girl extraordinaire Rochelle plus a community of fellow Ministry of Fun DJ School students who will be learning with your teen and cheering them on every step of the way.
Teens are so intuitive to music, it's like an immediate reaction for them, whether they be thinking of a happy moment or even a sad...it evokes an immediate emotion inside them. And that’s why DJing is such a great alternative to playing a more traditional musical instrument, because they get that instant gratification. Just by teaching them how to press play you can see in their faces how much they love DJing, they get so excited, which will not only light their face up, but will light yours as a parent.
I truly believe that through DJing, your teen will be able to not only connect with themselves but also strengthen connections with their family and friends, with a new found confidence and self belief in themselves. Witnessing your child nail their first mix is not only a memory they will never forget, but one YOU will never forget too.
With Love & Rhapsody,
Claire aka DJ FADJ
